Rather, Leon Obituary (20??)
Pdf:
I met and spent a short time with Leon and his Family. I'll never forget my first pleasure visit to Alabama. Pam and I flew in and rented a car. We pulled into their yard and were greeted grandly! Leon was larger than life, a gregarious man with a generous laugh and smile that made you feel both welcome and as if he had joke on his mind!
Straight away we met Tillie (wife) and Ann (Daughter) and granddaughter ????. We later met Kristie and her husband Kenneth. All were so welcoming and attentive to us and our comfort needs.
We took in all the Southern hospitality that was offered! We took lots of pictures. Told lots of stories and ate lots of good food! There were many stories to be told and more family to meet. (more about this)
We visited a second time, this time was a motorcycle trip (1999 GL1500SE). We were Kristy & Ken's guest this time and hospitality must be their middle names!
Upsettingly Leon was not well. He was in bed the entire visit, but we did visit! For a man that was in ill health, he certainly had a clear mind and spoke to us about fami relationships and events that had occurred over his many years. I took notes.
