LMont Palo Verdi Prep Standout
Speaking to Marceal about the many people who carry classifications of various degrees or typed of “attention disorders,” I brought up the fact that the issue proceeds the current list of symptoms and diagnosis’s and that society has been occupied by people who fit the array of so-called attention issues.
In this conversation I mentioned that her brother (our son) Lamont did not know that he had been diagnosed until he was 19 years old.
This led to the referencing of this article that was published. This article came about after the Basketball coach at the high school leaked a confidential communication to the media… this “leak” to a sports reporter led to events that resulted in LMont simultaneously being outed to the public and to himself.
That was 22 years ago.
Since then… we are proud of our son’s accomplishments and we stand by our decision to not medicate and not inform him of his diagnosis and the labels.
We are also aware that had we made a different choice our son may have achieved more and greater… or perhaps just felt better in his own skin. Still… we made the best decision and we’re glad.
BTW…
We don’t talk often about it or related to the diagnosis things, but when we do… he is also happy.
